LORE

Overview

After attending their family matriarch’s second-line funeral in New Orleans, a close-knit group of cousins seeks guidance from a Haitian Vodou Priest. What begins as ritual soon turns into revelation, as ominous predictions from their readings begin to manifest in harrowing and deadly ways.

LORE is a Southern Gothic horror film that delves into the whispered traditions of Vodou, Hoodoo, and Black mysticism. Drawing from the deep roots of the Black diaspora, the story explores how ancestral curses and folk rituals intertwine with family, faith, and fate. It’s a chilling portrait of the folklore that haunts generations, designed to immerse audiences in a world where myth and reality are indistinguishable.

Steeped in Southern Gothic shadows, LORE draws inspiration from the eerie family drama of Eve’s Bayou and the supernatural suspense of Final Destination. At its heart, it is as much about family and inheritance as it is about fear.
